Summer Fishing Update

It's hard to believe that it's already August. The summer is flying by! We've had a great time fishing and horseback riding this summer with all of our guests.

River Fishing Conditions

The Fishing conditions on the South Fork of the White River have been ideal through the second half of July and now into early August. Water levels are perfect and temperatures have been great for dry fly hatches.

We continue to see blue winged olives in the mid-morning and caddis in the afternoons. And with these warm mid-summer days the terrestrial fishing with hopper patterns has been a ton of fun.

Lake Fishing Conditions

The weather has been average this summer for Colorado, with warm days and afternoon thunderstorms. This has provided excellent fishing on our high alpine lakes for cutthroat, brook trout and lake trout.

Dry fly fishing in the mornings and on overcast afternoons has been productive on lakes. When the fish aren't looking toward the surface, streamer patterns have been effective. It's nice to have an extra reel or spool with a sinking line for getting those streamers down deeper on sunny days.
